The Top 3 Reasons You Should Have Dr. Scott Performing Dental Surgery In Your Dental Office:

1.  Keep your patients happy by offering a service that you normally refer out.  People do not like going from office to office for services that you do not offer.  For the last 14 years of practice, I have been offering services "under one roof"  to my patients in a multi-doctor; multi-specialty group dental practice environment. I can tell you that one of the most common comments we get from patients is that they appreciate that our office offers MOST PROCEDURES "UNDER ONE ROOF".  This keeps the patients from having to: 1) fill out boat-loads of paperwork at another office, 2). establish another relationship, 3) drive to an unfamiliar location, etc.

2.  Keep the Revenue in your office.   Many general dentists refer ALL of their oral surgery OUT of the office.  Thank goodness we have the surgeons for the difficult procedures, but the routine extractions and some third molar extractions can be done in your office, increasing the bottom-line profitability of the office.

3.  Consolidating treatment into fewer appointments for the patient.  Time is a precious commodity to most people today, so if there is something you can do to minimize the time it takes to complete your patient's treatment, do it and reap the praise.  A large percentage of my patients do not want to have four appointments to complete their treatment if they can do it in 2 appointments, so we'll schedule to do the general dentistry first, then finish with the surgical procedures.

Keeping the patient in your office strengthens the goodwill and loyalty to your practice.

I've been practicing "wet-fingered" dentistry for over 20 years now. I know my limitations and refer to the oral surgeons when necessary!
